Saint John’s Campus students are to wear full winter or full summer as per our new guidelines.

This means that whatever uniform you are choosing to wear, the Samaritan blue jumper is to be worn with the exception of Year 12s who wear their commemorative hoodies. 

PE uniform is not acceptable and if they PE that day, students will need to change into their winter or summer uniform to have their photo taken – this includes their individual photos.

Every year our generous Samaritan community donate to the Vinnies Christmas appeal. The volunteers at St Vincent De Paul always gratefully accept the donations of food, toys for children and gifts. Many families Christmases are made better and brighter by our donations.

This year we are again accepting non-perishable food, toys for children, gifts for adults and donations of new summer clothes for children.

These contributions to the appeal will assist Vinnies to help bring Christmas joy to families who are doing it tough. Donations can be made to any campus. Please send your donation to the office at your campus or to your child’s classroom by the end of week 8.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Samaritan staff and families are invited to bring donations of non-perishable food and new toys/books/clothes to Saint John's Campus. These items will be taken to Vinnie’s in week 9 and distributed to needy local families to help make their Christmas a little bit brighter.

Any students wishing to perform a song or other entertainment at our College's debut "Samaritan Shines" variety night are invited to audition!

"Samaritan Shines" will stage between 5.00-7.00pm at St Johns Campus on Tuesday 16th November, and provide a wonderful opportunity for students, staff and the Whyalla community to mingle and celebrate all the great things our College offers.

Any students wishing to participate in the entertainment programme should email our Band Director Alison Hams ali@alisonhams.com to discuss and schedule an audition.

Spaces are limited so spots will be granted on a first-in basis.

You may have read in recent media announcements that a range of SA schools will offer the COVID vaccine during the school day.  Samaritan College is one of those schools selected.

Today students received information and a consent form regarding the COVID vaccine, which is being offered to children aged 12 years and over.  Students at Saint John's Campus have the opportunity to receive their first dose of this vaccination at school on Tuesday, November 9th, with their second dose being offered on Wednesday December 1.

The vaccine administered will be the Pfizer vaccine and the whole process is coordinated by HealthCare Australia with qualified staff on site and recovery areas for the students provided.

Please note that this is NOT compulsory and ONLY students that have returned the required consent form will receive the vaccination. Please note that consent must be provided by BOTH parents/legal guardians.  If both parents cannot sign the form then please utilise alternative COVID vaccination options i.e. Whyalla Hospital.

It is very important that the consent form is returned by Friday November 5.  If you do not want your child to participate then simply do not fill in the form.  Copies of the consent form and the Information Sheet can be found on our website.

Parents who do not have internet access can make bookings via any campus front office. Interviews are strictly 20 minutes - if you require more time, please contact teachers directly to make alternative arrangements.

Events were held at Saint John's Campus on Thursday March 11 and Jubilee Park on Friday March 12.

Last week our Year 6 students from both primary campuses attended the Errappa Blue Light Camp at Iron Knob!

Camp is a fantastic opportunity for our students to build confidence + self-esteem, develop leadership skills, a sense of responsibility and respect for one’s self and others, as well as draw on skills of resilience and independence away from home! 😃

It was clear Bishop Karol thoroughly enjoyed his interactions with our students; Mr Judd having to remind Bishop Karol on several occasions to ‘keep moving’ because we had three campuses to visit!

On tour Bishop Karol spoke with our Stage 1 & 2 Art students; he asked our newest reception students what they like about school? (monkey bars the most popular answer) and he read a special prayer book hand made by a Year 2 student.

Due to the expected extreme hot weather on Thursday morning, the R-12 Mass will be Friday 12 February at 9am at Saint John's Campus Oval.

Samaritan College Musical for 2021 will be the Andrew Llyod Webber classic "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat!"...

This is a very exciting time for all our students at Samaritan College and indeed for the whole community!

Today we recognised some of our high achievers from 2020 including some students who gained an appresticeship. Our Senior Student Council was also presented to the student group for the first time. We thank UniSA Whyalla Campus and Hood Sweeney for sponsoring the awards.

On Monday 23 and Tuesday 24November our College was full of new faces as we welcomed our 2021 Reception students for their orientation visit! We look forward to welcoming them as part of our College community in 2020.
